3D generative models have come a long way in representing realistic and stylistic 3D assets and immersive scenes. However, building truly interactive 3D environment simulations requires integrating this cutting-edge technology with powerful AI agents capable of controlling tools like Blender and game engines by dynamically reprogramming engine states through code.

To accelerate this integration, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a series of open-source tools designed to seamlessly bridge our 3D AI ecosystem with popular third-party applications, beginning with Blender. Over time, we will make our agents more flexible, with full computer tool use.

We recognize the critical importance of embedding our solutions directly within established production environments to enhance prototyping efficiency and production workflows. Moving forward, this will remain our guiding approach, ensuring that our technology supports real-world scenarios and accelerates innovation.

Why Now?

  • 3D AI Meshes at an Inflection Point: CSM recently secured the #1 spot globally for 3D AI models (read more) and the quality of AI meshes is rapidly improving.

  • Rapid Advancement in AI Coding: AI coding capabilities have evolved dramatically, with models such as Gemini 2.5, Sonnet 3.7, and GPTs excelling at generating sophisticated game engine and simulation logic.

  • Decoupled, Interactive Architecture: For genuinely interactive experiences, we must decouple asset generation and management (3d.csm.ai), AI-powered coding interfaces or MCP clients (e.g., Cursor), and runtime engines like Blender. This modularity allows agents to combine knowledge and functionalities across these tools in real-time, enabling more dynamic, flexible workflows.

Key MCP Features:

  • Seamless Asset Integration: Effortlessly search and incorporate CSM AI-generated assets. Simply generate batches of parts-based or fully composed assets at 3d.csm.ai. During MCP execution, commands like "use CSM to get me a chair" trigger the retrieval of assets from your private library (if enabled in Blender) or from CSM's extensive public repository. This prevents the slow wait times for generation and a complex hidden user experience that occur when this is done in the end tool, which is not designed to handle this.

  • Instant Text-Based Animations: Quickly animate characters through intuitive text prompts. Commands such as "take the robot mesh in Blender and animate it to dance using CSM" enable rapid iteration and creative freedom.

  • Sophisticated Prompting Capabilities: Leverage advanced prompts to construct detailed, interactive, and dynamic worlds rapidly and efficiently.

The MCP server and Blender add-on are fully compatible with MCP clients like the Claude Desktop app and other platforms. Comprehensive installation and integration instructions are available in our GitHub README.

We invite you to explore these groundbreaking tools and join us in reshaping the future of interactive 3D content creation. Your creativity now has fewer boundaries than ever.
